Welcome to your home away from home.
Students who live on campus like how our growing university keeps its small community feel. You can roll out of bed and be at class in minutes, power-nap between bio and lacrosse practice, and know what’s going on over the weekend before anyone else.
You’ll love the new residence halls, brighter spaces and first-class food and wellness options.
Parents will be impressed to know research shows students who live on campus earn better grades and are more likely to graduate. To learn more about living at RMU, click here.
We offer traditional, apartment- and suite-style living, all co-ed. And, as more students are choosing to make the RMU campus their home, we’re expanding options. In fall of 2011, we opened the 190-bed, six-story Peter Salem Hall, which boosted on-campus residential capacity to nearly 1,500 beds.

Each furnished apartment houses four students, each with their own private bedroom. Every apartment features two bathrooms, living room and kitchen with stove, dishwasher, refrigerator and garbage disposal. Returning RMU resident students get priority for apartment-style housing. Each suite consists of a common area, five double-occupancy rooms, and semi-private showers and restrooms. Although the suite option is primarily for upperclassmen, a number of first-year students may be placed here based on availability.
RMU purchased the Holiday Inn Pittsburgh Airport in 2011 to accommodate the university's substantial growth in undergraduate enrollment. Located on University Boulevard less than 1 mile from campus, it currently houses approximately 144 students on floors separated from hotel guests. Eventually the entire building will be used for student housing, with a capacity of 500. It also features a fitness center, restaurant, and meeting rooms.
Free, state-of-the-art fitness facilities and confidential outpatient care are just two of the ways we put our students’ health and happiness first.
