Welcome to the Class of 2018
Robert Morris University welcomed the Class of 2018 to its Moon Township campus on Thursday, August 21.
Approximately 880 first-time students as well as 180 transfer students streamed onto campus Thursday with their families, placing the Class of 2018 among the largest in RMU history. More than 2,000 students are living campus housing, including 86 percent of the freshman class.
Other notable facts about the Class of 2018 at RMU:
- The average SAT score (math + verbal) of 1047 is five points higher than last year’s freshman class.
- Students come from 27 states, including Alaska, and 14 different nations.
- Transfer students come from 42 four-year colleges and universities and 24 two-year schools.
- 17.1 percent of students come from outside Pennsylvania, up from 15.2 percent last year.
New students were officially welcomed into the RMU community by RMU President Gregory Dell’Omo, representatives of the Robert Morris faculty, and senior university administrators at the Convocation ceremony.
