-- RMU Assistant Head Football Coach John Banaszak has been named the team's coach-in-waiting to replace current head coach Joe Walton at the conclusion of the 2013 season. Banaszak, who earned three Super Bowl rings with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1970s, has spent the past nine years with the Colonials. Read more about Banaszak, Walton, and Colonial football here.

-- RMU alumnus and part-time instructor Peter DeNardis recently was given the Jefferson Award, a prestigious national recognition honoring community and public service. DeNardis volunteers more than 40 hours per month for the International Waldenstorm’s Macroglobulinemia Foundation, a non-profit devoted to support, education, and research about Waldenstorm’s macroglobulinemia, an incurable disease that he was diagnosed with in 2003. *WELLNESS TIP* Check your moles. A changing mole is often indicative of the development of skin cancer. Be aware of where your moles are and how they look. Look for a new black mole or a change in outline, shape, size, color, or feel of an existing mole. If any are suspicious, call your doctor.
