-- At approximately noon on Monday, April 23, the university will be testing the RMU Alert system for emergency communications. You will see and hear the following message via phone, text, the web, Facebook, and Twitter:

"This is a test of the RMU Alert system. This is only a test. If this were a real Alert more details would be provided."

Prior to the test, please take a moment to update or verify your registration information by logging into Sentry with your RMU user name and password at  If you have not yet logged into the new RMU Alert system, you can do so (after logging into Sentry) by using the last 10 digits of your Freedom Card number in the password field. If you forgot your password simply click "forgot password" and a new one will be sent to you via text message or email. If you have any questions or problems, please contact the RMU Help Desk.

-- This year the University Honors Program is hosting the largest Undergraduate Research Conference on record, with more than 60 presenters from four institutions, due in large part to the excellent participation of RMU honors students. The conference, which is co-hosted with the honors program of California University of Pennsylvania, will take place Friday, April 20, from 11:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Sewall Center. See a schedule of the panel sessions and presentations.

-- The Department of Media Arts invites you to the annual Gold Screening, featuring the best work of the department's TV/video production students, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, in Hopwood Hall. Refreshments will be served. The Gold Show art exhibition also runs through May 11 at the gallery at 600 Fifth Ave., downtown.

-- Associate Professor of Media Arts Hyla Willis has received a Heinz Endowment Fellowship for her six-week residency at the MacDowell Colony in New Hampshire.

*WELLNESS TIP* Swim indoors for strength and fitness. The resistance of water helps strengthen muscles and promotes a cardiovascular workout. Swimming cal also be relaxing and serve as a good cool down to other exercise activities.
