-- For the fourth time in her career, RMU Colonials junior forward Artemis Spanou has been named the most valuable player in a FIBA European women's basketball championship. This time Spanou led her Greek national team to the Division B title in the U20 Championship in the Czech Republic, earning Greece a promotion to Division A for 2013. Last summer, Spanou was also named the MVP of the U20 European Championship as she led Greece to a bronze medal. She has previously been named MVP in the U18 and U16 championships. Over the last two weeks, the 6'1" forward led the Greeks to a 7-1 record, finishing second overall in scoring with 20.4 points per game and leading all players in rebounding (12.6 per game) and double-double (6 of the 8 games). -- Jaclyn Bosiljevac, a senior actuarial science major at Robert Morris University, was recently awarded the 2012 Actuary of Tomorrow – Stuart A. Robertson Memorial Scholarship by The Actuarial Foundation. Established in 2006, the foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that recognizes and encourages the academic achievements of undergraduate students pursuing a career in actuarial science. The scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior who has completed at least two actuarial examinations. Read more >>
