-- The Online College Database named RMU to its "Top Colleges in Pennsylvania Shaping the Next Generation" list, which recognizes institutions that graduate the greatest number of teachers and education professionals. RMU is No. 35 among 88 schools on the list.

The Minuteman will go on hiatus until Friday, Jan. 10. Happy Holidays!

-- Baptist Homes Society has named Joe Angelelli, assistant professor and director of the Health Services Administration program, to its board of directors.

-- Bob Arturo, hockey director at the RMU Island Sports Center, was recognized as Coach of the Month by USA Hockey Magazine.

CONGRATULATIONS! New Colonial head coach John Banaszak was named 2013 Assistant Coach of the Year at the Football Championship Subdivision level for his work both on the field and his charitable work off it as announced by the American Football Coaches Association. Banaszak, who becomes the Colonials’ head coach this month with the retirement of Joe Walton, has spent the past 11 seasons as an assistant coach and assistant head coach on the RMU staff.
