-- Engineering juniors Samantha Pogel (biomedical) and Michael Shaffer (biomedical/mechanical co-op) each have received a $10,000 scholarship from the II-VI Foundation. Biomedical engineering junior Sarah Robb, an Honors student, has previously received that scholarship. Pogel and Shaffer spent their summer working as an intern and a co-op engineer respectively at Bayer's MEDRAD while Robb completed a research program on Tissue Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts sponsored by the National Science Foundation.
Robb will be presenting a poster during the Biomedical Engineering Society Annual Meeting Oct. 15 in Hartford, Conn. The presentation is titled "A System for Controlled Study of Strain Gradients in Vitro at the Undergraduate Research Track Session."

-- Moon Township will commerate the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, with a memorial garden, and is inviting members of the public including the RMU community to support the effort with a commomerative brick. Order forms can be found here.
