INFS3440 - Health Care Information System

Fall 2011

This course provides an introduction to automated information systems which are useful to health services organizations at all levels of care, and demonstrates a variety of practical applications of information systems and techniques for use throughout the health care industry. Specifically, students develop an understanding of MIS uses in patient medical records; medical quality assurance; cost control and productivity enhancement; utilization analysis and demand estimation; program planning and evaluation; simplification of internal and external reporting; clinical research; and education.
Prerequisites: INFS1020 or STAT2110 and COSK2220
