ELIT2055 - World Literature
Spring 2013 This course examines ancient and modern texts from a variety of cultures. This course teaches students the process of close reading, analysis, and interpretation of literature and invites students to make connections between literature and their experiences. The course stresses in-depth reading and concentrates on the interrelationships of literary works and the social and cultural values and beliefs reflected in and affected by those works. Some attention is given to the terminology basic to literary study and to the place of literature in a well-rounded education. The course is designed for students without prior coursework in literature. Prerequisite: COSK1221 3 Credits |
