TAXN6350 - Tax Planning Seminar I
Spring 2013 This course investigates the factors, procedures, and techniques involved in the planning and decision-making process, not only with respect to taxation, but also legal, accounting, and financial matters. The course involves in-depth analysis, solution, and discussion of problems typically affecting individuals and businesses, including selection of an appropriate business entity; tax and legal effects of corporate distributions; corporate liquidations and reorganizations; trusts, partnerships and S corporations; the personal holding company and accumulated earnings tax; executive compensation, and state and federal (non-tax) laws affecting the decision-making process, including the Pennsylvania Business Corporation Law and both state and federal securities laws and related matters.
