NMED3050 - Pharmacology

Fall 2013

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of pharmaceuticals to include the mechanisms of action, indications, dosages and adverse effects of the key drug groups. The student will develop an understanding of the fundamental effects of drug indications and pharmacokinetics on biological systems. Drug classifications as well as common interventional drugs used in nuclear medicine technology scope of practice will be discussed. Contrast media used in diagnostic imaging, to include class of drugs, alternates names, mechanism of dose action will be studied.
Prerequisite: NURS2015
