EDML9130 - Dissertation Seminar I

Spring 2014

Doctoral students will be expected to propose, design, conduct, and analyze the results of a novel research project dealing with an issue of interest to them in education. The dissertation project will be conducted primarily under the direct supervision of each student's major advisor (mentor) as well as in part by the student's committee members. The main goals of this course are two-fold. First, each student will develop their research interests into a dissertation-worthy question that will form chapter one of their dissertation manuscript. Second, students will begin to review the relevant literature and integrate this body of work into chapter two of their dissertation manuscript. Periodically, students will be required to present their ideas to the class for constructive criticism and stylistic feedback.
