PSYC3880 - Exercise and Health Psychology

The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the psychological and motivational factors associated with exercise participation and health behavior changes. This course offers an overview of the major topics in health and exercise psychology and explores individual, social, and environmental influences on physical and mental health. Topics of interest include exercise adherence, health behavior changes such as increasing physical activity and improving diet, the influence of stress on health, and the treatment of chronic disease and mental illness through physical activity and exercise.
