HSMG3200 - Health Care Economics

Fall 2014

This course presents an analysis and evaluation of the emergence of health care and the delivery of health services as major economic issues in the United States and abroad. Issues discussed during the course include: basic economic tools for the health services manager; the unique aspects of supply and demand in providing health services; health insurance, managed care and the production costs of health care; rapid changes in technology; labor markets and professional training; government rules and regulations; cost-benefit analysis and antitrust concerns in health care.
Prerequisites -- ECON1020, ECON1030, HSMG1010 (HM101 and EC101 and EC102.)
