JRNL3100 - History Of Journalism/Mass Com

Spring 2018

This three-credit-hour course covers the history of American journalism and mass communication with emphasis on the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. Topics covered include a complete review of the history of American daily newspaper, including the colonial press, party press era, yellow journalism, new journalism, muckraking and jazz journalism as well as the development of the magazine, radio and television industries.
