Spring 2017

This course is a comprehensive examination of the first and most-visible part of the Criminal Justice System, law enforcement. Various policing eras and the prevailing policing philosophies of their time are discussed, including the current department structures and police administration systems in the US and abroad. The responsibilities, pressures, and constitutional limits law enforcement professionals face during the investigative process are also examined.
