Senior Jessica Chin placed first in the administrative technology competition at the Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda’s National Leadership Conference in Atlanta this summer. The New Castle native will graduate in May with a bachelor's in accounting and a master's in information security and assurance.
Administrative technology tests competency with word processing, computer skills, and written communication. The ?contest involved a 100-point multiple choice test and a production test that required participants to create various business documents using Microsoft Word within an hour.
To compete at the national conference, students had to place first or second in their event at the state conference held in Harrisburg. More than 1,700 students traveled to Atlanta for the four-day program.
“I enjoyed the opportunity to network with PBL students from across the country,” Chin said. "We got to talk about different things each of our chapters did, and I am bringing back some new ideas for the RMU chapter."
