RMU is RANKED AMONG NATIONAL UNIVERSITIES IN U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT Best Colleges 2016. Moving up from the regional university category, RMU debuted at 188th on the list of almost 300 of the nation’s biggest doctoral-granting institutions.

Six degree programs are named 2016 BEST ONLINE PROGRAMS BY U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT, including the bachelor’s degree program overall and the M.B.A., nursing, education, computer information technology, and other business graduate programs.

RMU is one of only 30 universities worldwide to be NAMED A CENTER OF ACTUARIAL EXCELLENCE by the Society of Actuaries for its actuarial science program. High school students who want to enter RMU's program must score at least a 670 on the mathematics portion of the SAT or 28 on the ACT.

RMU had the FIRST STATE BOARD OF NURSING-APPROVED DOCTOR OF NURSING PRACTICE PROGRAM in Pennsylvania.

RMU is PART OF THE NATIONAL ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING INNOVATION INSTITUTE, a $70 million federal initiative that includes Carnegie Mellon University and Penn State.

NCAA DIVISION I ATHLETICS

Since 1990, the Colonials have claimed 43 CONFERENCE REGULAR-SEASON CHAMPIONSHIPS AND 44 LEAGUE TOURNAMENT TITLES among 16 Division I sports.

RMU boasts the ONLY NCAA DIVISION I ICE HOCKEY PROGRAM IN PITTSBURGH, for both men and women.

Since 1992, Robert Morris has placed 54 STUDENT-ATHLETES ON CAPITAL ONE DISTRICT II ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA TEAMS. Included in that group are 23 student-athletes who were honored in consecutive years. Nine of those student-athletes went on to earn Capital One Academic All-America honors.

FORTY RMU STUDENT-ATHLETES HAVE BEEN NAMED THE NORTHEAST CONFERENCE SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR in their respective sport since 1988, including four in 2015-16.

The men’s basketball team’s EIGHT NEC TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIPS ARE THE MOST IN LEAGUE HISTORY, and the team owns two of the four wins by the conference in the NCAA Tournament.

RMU also holds EIGHT NEC TOURNAMENT TITLES IN VOLLEYBALL AND SIX IN SOFTBALL AND FOOTBALL.

About 450 RMU students compete in 16 Division I sports, and their AVERAGE GRADUATION RATE IS 73 PERCENT. The national average graduation rate for all Division I student-athletes is about 63 percent.
