These cousins -- they say they're "more like sisters" -- both have spent time in other places in the USA, but they are new to Pittsburgh. When Aikerim was studying in Los Angeles, her mom came with her and soon fell in love with a man from Pittsburgh. They all moved here, and invited Almira to come join them. Now the Kazakh cousins share a dorm room at Robert Morris University.

Almira is studying economics and enjoys singing, dancing, ice skating, and reading. Aikerim is studying business administration and likes painting and belly dancing.
