Undergraduate Programs
Stephen majored in biology at RMU, and commuted from his home in Findlay Township so that he could keep a job as a pizza delivery driver. He was part of a small cohort of high achieving students at RMU who received scholarships from the National Science Foundation, and after graduation he went to Lake Erie College of Medicine.
Now the fourth-year radiation oncology resident at Allegheny Health Network has been named by the Pittsburgh Business Times to its annual “30 Under 30” honors.
My professors demonstrated to me that they actually did care about me. It was genuine, they weren’t faking it or just doing their job.

Skills she learned working her M.S. in Health Services Administration helped Brittney Mattis secure a hospital auditing job even before she finished her degree. They also put her in position to move up to a better position in operations.
Now Brittney handles daily staff planning for 750 anesthesiologists and CRNAs in 13 different hospitals and surgery centers. It is like solving a new puzzle every day, and it is definitely a step up professionally.
Having this degree gives me a really good opportunity to move into a different area if I choose to. It’s really nice that it’s not limiting to one specific area of health administration.
