Alum of the Month - Barbara Kruze Job: Administrative Assistant, McCormick Elementary School in Moon Area School District.

Home and Family: She lives in Moon Twp. with her husband of 38 years, Jack. They have four children and three grandchildren.

Proudest Achievement: My family ties – I am very proud of my family and all they have achieved.”

Favorite RMU Memory: As a Steelerette, a cheerleader for the Steelers, from 1964 to 1966, Barbara was once asked to be a background dancer for Andy Williams during his concert at the Civic Arena as he sang “Music to Watch the Girls Go By.”

Last RMU event attended: Last month’s RMU Night at PNC Park, the annual Pirates tailgate hosted by the Alumni Association.

Why she stays connected: In 2001 the local Steelerettes, who were all RMU alumni, began attending RMU’s Homecoming events. Robert Morris began hosting a breakfast for us each year, and they have always been so warm and welcoming, acknowledging us when we are present at Homecoming.”

How she stays connected: She is the chairman of the first Open Meeting, which works to reconnect alumni to their alma mater’s Alumni Association. The Open Meeting is Saturday, September 21 at 10 a.m. in Sewall Center. All alumni are welcome for a free brunch and tour of RMU's growing campus.
