Welcome to the start of a new academic year at Robert Morris University. We are excited to welcome our new first-year and transfer students, as well as our returning students back home on campus! We have been busy this summer making plans for the upcoming year. We hope you’ll notice the new services and upgrades for students that are currently being completed.
Yorktown Hall is now fully operational and has grown to be our largest residence hall. The Yorktown Café on the building’s lower level is nearing completion and will provide an additiona lfood service venue for the campus community. Student Life and Residence Life will be offering evening and weekend programming for all students as soon as the space is ready for use. Yorktown Hall also provides additional meeting space for student groups.
When you arrive back on campus you’ll also see renovations at Jefferson Center. Student Health Services will be moving this semester to a brand new, larger space on the main level of Jefferson, just next to the Health and Fitness Center. We are pleased to be able to improve this facility for our students. A new, dedicated counseling center on the second floor of Nicholson Center is also now open for students. Look for more information about the staff, resources, and services which will be announced to the campus community when the semester begins.
As you can tell, there are a number of enhanced services and facilities that students can take advantage of starting this semester. Take the time to review this newsletter with your student. Encourage him/her to be familiar with the services and resources available on campus and to get involved, both in the classroom and out. Furthermore, I want to assure you that the safety, security, and well-being of your student is one of our main priorities.
