Support RMU

Student Philanthropy Ambassadors

Our mission is to spread the word about philanthropy and how it impacts RMU and the entire Colonial community. This year our team will:

  • educate students on the impact and importance of giving time, talent, and financial resources to RMU
  • host class affinity events
  • spread the word about philanthropy
  • prepare our fellow classmates to become engaging alumni
  • network with current alumni
  • engage students in the Office of Institutional Advancement

Both hand-selected Co-Chairs and volunteer students will operate under Office of Institutional Advancement, assisting with educating, engaging and exciting their peers.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to planning exclusive and all-inclusive events, marketing and promotions, attending regular meetings, and working office hours.

Co-Chairs

SPA Co-Chairs will apply, interview and be selected by IA staff. SPA Co-Chairs will be representatives from the classes of 2017, 2018, and 2019. They will earn SET credit, be required to work 3 office hours per week, and receive a $200 stipend per semester.

Current Chairs

Class of 2019 - Gabby Cramer
Gabby is a sophomore double-majoring in accounting and finance. She jumped at the opportunity to join SPA because of her passion for philanthropy. Around campus, you’ll find her hanging out with friends and working with the RMU Amusement Park Club, which she helped to launch. Gabby’s other hobbies include crocheting and catching the latest movies.

Class of 2018 - Maddie Virnelson
Maddie is a Junior Business Management major and Psychology minor. Her hobbies include spending time with my friends, hiking and playing with makeup! She joined SPA because she saw it as a great way to get more involved on campus and give back to this wonderful University.

Class of 2017 - Emylee Milani
Emylee is an integrated business student also studying for her masters in organizational leadership. Though she is excited to graduate in May, she will miss her Delta Zeta sisters, where she served as the sorority’s President. Emylee joined SPA because of her passion about philanthropy and she understands the importance of giving back, especially to RMU.

Class of 2017 - Cassidy Baker
Cassidy Baker is excited to serve as a Class of 2017 SPA Co-Chair! Cassidy is pursuing both a B.S. & M.S. in Organizational Leadership and is an active student leader on campus. She is involved with Alpha Chi Honor Society, Order of Omega, Women's Leadership and Mentorship Program, Zeta Tau Alpha, and several other organizations. Cassidy joined SPA due to her love of Robert Morris University and eagerness to give back to the university. After graduation, she would like to go into Higher Education, specifically within the Student Life.

General Ambassadors

General Student Philanthropy Ambassadors will be comprised of volunteers. They will promote events, be required to attend meetings, and help to secure support for the Class Gift.

If you would like to join SPA, please contact Hillary Moore at mooreh@rmu.edu.
