"PARTICIPATING IN THE EITC PROGRAM IS A WIN-WIN, BENEFITING STUDENTS AND FAMILIES THROUGH EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND SCHOLARSHIPS. WE RECEIVE A CORPORATE TAX CREDIT WHILE SUPPORTING OUR LOCAL SCHOOLS AND UNIVERSITIES."
Terri Fischer, Waste Management
The RMU First Semester College in High School™ Program allows qualified high school students to earn 15 college credits at a 70 percent tuition discount. Over two years, starting their junior year, the high school students take five introductory level Robert Morris University courses – the equivalent of one semester -- for credits that will easily transfer to any institution where the participants choose to enroll.
The First Semester College in High School ™ Program now qualifies for donations under the Pennsylvania Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program , which offers state tax credits to businesses that donate money to support K-12 educational improvement organizations or scholarship funds.
Qualified businesses can make a donation through the EITC program to offset the cost of the First Semester College in High School™ Program for students who enroll from a participating public high school. Past EITC donations have allowed RMU to purchase textbooks for use by students participating in the program. Current donations will also be used to reduce the cost of attendance for students enrolled in the First Semester College in High School™ Program.
