Professional Background

  • Dr. Jabro was elected president of the American Federation of Teachers Local #3412 for seven consecutive years after serving as secretary, vice president and promotions committee chair. Her leadership has spurred the largest membership in the history of the Federation. She has also served on four negotiations teams and successfully enhanced working conditions for the membership while bring about culture change within the Federation. Dr. Jabro served at the invitation of President Gregory Dell'Omo as the chair of the Middle States Re-Accreditation team. This comprehensive review earned commendations for process and content and focused on ascertaining if RMU's educational and organizational practices were in compliance with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education's Characteristics of Excellence. The Re-Accreditation team identified ways to improve processes and systems to stimulate a continuous quality improvement loop for the university. Jabro managed the 105 member group dynamics, student media liaison and guided the research collection, data analysis and writing of the document with David Majka, Director of Institution Research and in consultation with David Jamison, Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs.
