Our men’s division III club ice hockey team competes in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) D-III level where we are a member of the College Hockey East league (CHE). The CHE is comprised of the University of Pittsburgh, California University of PA, Fredonia University, Penn State Altoona and Berhend, St. Vincent College, West Virginia University, the University of Pittsburgh Johnstown and Indiana University of PA. The 2009-10 team finished the regular season with a 20-6 record and reached the national championship tournament which was good for a top 16 ranking in the nation.
We are also one of a handful of ACHA Division I and Division III programs with an NCAA Division I team at the same school. Our men’s club ice kockey program is fortunate to have established a very good relationship with NCAA program and Head Coach Derek Schooley.
The 2010-11 season will bring another grueling schedule for the Colonials with 95% of the schedule being played against top five nationally ranked schools. The team will continue to practice twice a week and play home games at the RMU Island Sports Center on Neville Island. Your support is welcome at all home games.
