REFERENCE, CIRCULATION, INSTRUCTION, and INTERLIBRARY LOAN are the core library functions integral to Public Services. The Head of Public Services oversees these library operations.
REFERENCE
The Reference Desk is the primary point of contact for research assistance; librarians staffing the reference desk can respond to most of your library and research questions or provide you with an appropriate referral.
CIRCULATION
The Circulation Desk is the place to go to check out books, access Course Reserves, and pick up EZ-Borrow and Interlibrary Loan materials. Overdue fines are also handled by Circulation.
INSTRUCTION
RMU Libraries provide library instruction sessions -- generally during one 50-minute class period. Faculty in every discipline are encouraged to make arrangements for library instruction to prepare students for research assignments.
Refer to Research Help Guides and Research Questions? Ask a Librarian for individual research assistance. If you are an instructor, you may also want to consult Information Literacy Resources.
INTERLIBRARY LOAN
If you cannot locate a book, article, or other information, ask a reference librarian. If the item is not available through RMU Libraries, you may request it through
EZ-Borrow (books) or regular Interlibrary Loan (articles, books, media, theses, etc.).
There is no charge to students, staff, or faculty for obtaining items via ILL services.
