In addition to authoring papers and making presentations to local, national and international management audiences, they have received acknowledgment in leading management textbooks.
Faculty members are very student-oriented, sponsoring student organizations, hosting students in their homes and promoting students for national recognition in Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. Because of their active interest in their students, management faculty members are frequently cited for their roles as outstanding student mentors.
Student Organizations
A variety of activities and organizations are available to management students. Students may participate in the Society for the Advancement of Management (SAM), which guides students toward careers in management. The chapter travels to the SAM national conference to participate in the annual student case competition.
The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) provides valuable networking opportunities as well as guidance for certification exams for those interested in a career in human resource management. Students attend the SHRM national conference to attend workshops and participate in a student case competition.
The RMU chapter of Nonprofit Leadership Alliance allows students to explore careers in nonprofit management while providing service opportunities in the local community. Students attend the annual Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Management Institute to learn from and network with nonprofit leaders.
RMU also sponsors chapters of Alpha Chi and Sigma Beta Delta, two national honor societies.
Internship Opportunities
Management students are strongly encouraged to participate in at least one internship experience.
