Program Overview
The Master of Science (M.S.) in Internet Information Systems degree program at Robert Morris University prepares information technology professionals for the challenges of developing and maintaining effective information systems in organizations facing the dynamic challenges of functioning in the Internet environment.

The field of Internet information systems technology is expected to continue its rapid rate of growth. In turn, the need for professionals with technical expertise in developing and managing information systems, managing large amounts of information and data, dealing with issues of security, and identifying and solving hardware, software and Internet problems continues to grow. This program will prepare you to function successfully in this rapidly changing field.

This 30-credit degree program responds to both the technical elements of the field and the continual growth of Internet-based information systems that are becoming part of all corporations, organizations and businesses. The degree will equip you with essential skills to design, develop, manage and maintain information systems, while responding to the issues and problems that result from the link between human users and technology.

The M.S. in Internet Information Systems degree program responds to industry needs and leads to possible professional certifications. Part of the program is designed to prepare you to take the Network+ certification exam and, if desired, the first two Microsoft Certified Professional exams of the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) program. In addition, you have the option to gain industry-based experience in an internship. Thus, you can graduate with conceptual technical foundations, as well as industry-based experience and recognized certifications.

Program Requirements and Prerequisite Courses
Prerequisites for this program include three credits in computer literacy and three credits in programming or programming logic. If you have no computer background, information system literacy courses should be completed at the undergraduate level before beginning the graduate course sequence. If you hold a degree in information systems or another computer field, advanced or elective courses will be substituted for courses in which similar topics have been taken at the undergraduate level. Thus, you can minimize redundancy and maximize the value of your degree.

Prerequisite Courses - up to 6 credits
INFS1010 Principles of Information & Computing or
INFS2110 Logic Programming or Any programming language

You must demonstrate that you have completed these courses or approved alternatives. You may be able to enroll in the M.S. in Internet Information Systems program while concurrently filling these prerequisites.

Curriculum
The M.S. in Internet Information Systems degree program requires 30 credits for completion, assuming that all prerequisites have been met. The degree consists of 21 credits in required technical core courses and nine credits of communications and information systems electives.

Students should submit the following credentials to the Graduate Admissions Office:

1. A completed application and a non-refundable $35 application fee. Or apply online for free.
   Official undergraduate transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.
2. Two current letters of recommendation.
3. A current résumé.
4. A brief essay outlining goals for the program.
