Admission to Graduate Programs 

Admission to the M.S.N. Program

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum undergraduate QPA of 3.25

  • Current licensure as a registered nurse

  • At least one year of work experience as a registered nurse preferred

  • If the undergraduate QPA is below 3.25, the student may be given the option of presenting other material for admission consideration

Procedure

Applicants may view and complete the online application.

Applicants also are required to participate in a personal interview with the nursing faculty/nursing administrator.

When the file is complete with above materials, the Department of Nursing will receive the completed application information from the Admissions Office. The faculty/ staff will contact the applicant to arrange an interview. On the basis of the interview and the other materials submitted by the applicant, recommendations will be submitted to the Dean or Graduate admissions committee for final approval. The applicant will receive notification of acceptance status from the Admissions Office.

 

Admission to the BSN to DNP Program

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum undergraduate QPA of 3.25

  • Current licensure as a registered nurse

  • At least one year of work experience as an registered nurse

  • The GRE may be recommended.

Applicants may view and complete the online application.

Applicants also are required to participate in a personal interview with the nursing faculty/ nursing administrator.

When the online application is complete, the file will be reviewed.  On the basis of an interview and other materials submitted by the applicant, recommendations will be submitted for final approval. The applicant will receive notification of acceptance status from the Admissions Office.

 

Admission to the DNP Completion Program

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university

  • Masters’ degree in nursing from an accredited college or university or an equivalent/ similar Master’s degree

  • Minimum QPA of 3.25

  • Certification as an advanced practice nurse in a specialty area, 
    (nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, midwife or nurse anesthetist)

  • Current licensure as a registered nurse

  • At least one year of work experience as an RN

Procedure

Applicants may view and complete the online application.
 
Applicants also are required to participate in a personal interview with the nursing faculty.

When the online application is complete, the file will be reviewed.  On the basis of an interview and other materials submitted by the applicant, the graduate advisor will submit recommendations final approval. The applicant will receive notification of acceptance status from the Admissions Office.
