Leave of Absence

Any student who leaves the university for reasons approved by the Dean of SNHS with the intention of returning is considered to be on leave of absence.

Procedure

Any student who wishes to apply for a leave of absence from the university should notify his/her nursing advisor in the graduate program and arrange for an interview. An official leave of absence form is to be completed and forwarded to the Dean of the School. Upon approval of the Dean, the form will be sent to Academic Services. To be entitled to a tuition refund, you must officially withdraw from your classes by either:

  • Completing the Notice of Withdrawal/Leave of Absence form at the Student Support Center or through Academic Services.
  • Contacting Academic Services for special arrangements.

A leave of absence is granted on a term-to-term basis. In general, the leave of absence should not exceed two terms. If the student does not return at the end of the leave, the academic status will be changed to WITHDRAWN, with the effective date being the original date of the leave.
