RMU Students Sponsor Special Olympics Bowling Sectional
Wednesday, March 20, 2013
Pittsburgh – Students in Robert Morris University’s Sport Management Program and Special Olympics Pennsylvania are sponsoring the 11th annual Special Olympics Pennsylvania Western Bowling Sectional on Saturday, March 23.
The opening ceremonies will take place at 9 a.m. at Bishop Canevin High School in Pittsburgh. The event itself gets underway at AMF Mt. Lebanon Lanes in Mt. Lebanon and AMF Noble Lanes in Pittsburgh and serves as a qualifier for the 2013 Summer Games, which will be held at Penn State, June 6 -8.
Junior Sports Management major Corinne Katich describes the emotional value that comes with this event.
“This is not only a good way to give back to the community, but a great way to get involved in an amazing program that really helps others out,” said Katich.
The theme this year is “patriotic,” so volunteers are invited to wear their American colors and show support for all participants.
