The tests provide the opportunity to gain college credit for knowledge acquired through independent study. If you are interested in taking a CLEP examination, speak with an admissions counselor to make sure you are taking the correct examination in order for credit to be applied toward your degree program.
If you have ever taken courses in the workplace or from training providers, completed a union apprenticeship program, earned a certification or served in the military, you may have earned college credit to apply toward your degree program.
If you have extensive knowledge in a subject that is taught at the college level, the Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) process might be right for you. PLA is a flexible, efficient way of earning credits for college-level knowledge you have gained outside the traditional classroom.
