  • Rune, RMU's literary magazine, is accepting submissions for the 2019 edition. Submissions must be emailed to rune@mail.rmu.edu by Sunday, March 17 for possible entry. Rune is accepting works of poetry, photography, drawing, and graphic design. There are no topic restrictions, but individuals may only submit up to three pieces of work. Poetry submissions must be no more than 1,000 words and drama/prose must be no more than 1,500 words.
  • The RMU Library has arranged for RMU students and faculty members to have three weeks of free access to edweek.org, an online news service dedicated to K-12 education. The free trial began Feb. 4 and runs through Feb. 22. To register your account, simply click here.
  • Robert Morris University is featured as one of the best Master's in Database Management degree programs on TheBestSchools.org for 2018. These rankings are based on six informational categories; academic excellence, faculty scholarship, reputation, financial aid, range of degree programs, and strength of online instruction methodology. RMU's major ranked in this category is master's in data analytics.

Upcoming Events

  • RMU Campus Recreation and the Opioid Response Committee welcome Joe DelSardo to campus for an inspirational talk about overcoming addiction and becoming an outstanding Division I athlete. The former Pitt wide receiver was an undersized walk-on who persevered to receive a full scholarship and become a starter for the Panthers. Owning one of SportCenter's "Play of the Day," DelSardo will talk about his highlights on the football field, as well as his lowest times of addiction. Join us in Hopwood Hall on February 28 at 8 p.m., where the RMU Athletics Department will be providing free pizza. 
  • All are invited to attend the Fourth Annual Women & Transformational Leadership Symposium presented by the Women's Leadership & Mentorship Program. The 2019 Symposium is a two-day conference focused on the advancement of women and systemic change to eliminate gender bias and inequity. The event highlights visionary leaders addressing innovation, change, and equity through interactive workshops and panel discussions. The Symposium will take place at the Sheraton Pittsburgh Airport Hotel on Thursday, March 28th and Friday, March 29th. Click here for information and registration.

RMU BASKETBALL COACHES SHOW PRESENTED BY PEOPLES NATURAL GAS...and featuring Robert Morris head coach Andy Toole continues on Monday Feb. 18 from The Yard Gastropub (670 Chauvet Drive/Pointe @ North Fayette) at 7 pm. All fans are welcome to attend, and food/drinks are on us. Co-hosting the show once again is the RMU Hall of Fame Voice of the Colonials Chris Shovlin. It will continue to air live each Monday at 7 pm through March 11 on the radio home for RMU Hoops, 970 AM ESPN Pittsburgh as well as on the iHeart Radio mobile app.

RMU HOCKEY COACHES SHOW PRESENTED BY UMPC CENTER FOR SPORTS MEDICINE...and featuring Colonial head man Derek Schooley from All-Star Sports Bar and Grill (across from the Mall at Robinson) takes a break this week and continues at 7 pm on Tuesday Feb. 19. Come out and get the inside scoop on Robert Morris Hockey from the coach as well as radio announcers Mike Prisuta and Tim Benz.
