  • The Writing Center is now open, and additional hours and booking options have been added for this semester. If you have students interested in working with a tutor for their class assignments please have them go to Wheatley 147, off of the Atrium, or visit rmu.edu/WritingCenter.

Personal Mention

  • Tim Schlak, dean of the RMU Library and Bruce Johnston, former associate director of learning resources in the library, published a paper in Public Services Quarterly about the textbook reserve program. Their paper, "A Case Study and Analysis of a Successful and Collaborative Student-Centered Textbook Reserve Program in a Mid-Size Academic Library" highlights the positive correlation between students’ use of the program and their perceived academic success.

You're Invited

  • The Honors Program, Center for Global Engagement ,and the English Department are bringing Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Peter Balakian to campus September 18 & 19. Peter's memoir, Black Dog of Fate, was the Honors Summer Read this year. His poetry collection Ozone Journal won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry. He is also the director of Colgate University's Center for Ethics and World Societies.

  • RMU students, faculty and staff are invited to the Welcome Reception of Fall 2019 Visiting Documentary Filmmaker Eva Weber on from 1 to 2 p.m. Sept. 11 in the Wheatley Center Atrium. Weber is a London-based, German director working in documentary and fiction, with multiple award-winning films screened in over 100 festivals including Sundance, Telluride and SXSW.  While at RMU, she will be teaching a documentary production class and working on her latest documentary film project.
