Honors Program Curriculum

Honors Theses

As part of the Honors Curriculum, Patriot Scholars complete an honors thesis and present it at the Intersections Undergraduate Research Conference. Some work is presented at national research conferences and published in refereed journals.

Curriculum

Students have three options for completing the honors curriculum:

Honors with Highest Distinction (21-27 credits)

  • 6-12 credits honors communication skills (depending on college-in-high-school, AP, transfer, previously completed coursework. See listing below). 
  • 6 credits honors general education courses (See listing below)
  • 3 credits HNRS 39xx seminar or Study Abroad.
  • 6 credits Honors Thesis: HNRS 4900 Thesis Design and Development, HNRS  4911 Honors Thesis, 4912 Honors Thesis

Honors with Distinction (18 credits)

  • 9 credits honors coursework (see listing of honors communication skills and general education courses below)
  • 3 credits HNRS 39xx seminar or Study Abroad
  • 6 credits Honors Thesis: HNRS 4900 Thesis Design and Development, HNRS  4911 Honors Thesis, 4912 Honors Thesis

Honors (15 credits)

  • 12 credits of honors coursework (see listing of honors communication skills and general education courses below)
  • 3 credits HNRS 39xx seminar or Study Abroad
  • 0 credit Honors 4000 Capstone
