The B.S. in Organizational Leadership is concentrated on the process of influencing others and adapting to change. It covers aspects such as ethical behavior, organizational culture and global perspectives, purposeful communication, and the use of information for making decisions, planning goals, and implementing strategies. Students learn and practice how leaders recognize opportunities and motivate others, and how followers choose leaders.

Graduates go on to careers in administration, management, and entrepreneurial ventures in corporate, government, military, and nonprofit organizations. Jobs include corporate trainer, employee relations representative, personnel manager, project leader, and supervisor.

Program Learning Outcomes
At the completion of the Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership program, graduates will be able to:
 
  • Describe and demonstrate an understanding of challenges and approaches to leading and following in many kinds of organizations in a variety of contexts.
  • Make reasoned judgments, practice reflection, and exhibit self and other awareness when faced with ethical dilemmas and making decisions.
  • Apply appropriate communication skills in interpersonal, group, and organizational contexts.
  • Recognize group dynamics and develop collaborative skills necessary for teamwork and conflict resolution.
  • Interpret facets of organizational behavior and how organizational goals and effectiveness, viability, and sustainability are achieved.
Career Prep

A recent study from the National Association of Colleges and Employers reports that eight competencies are especially valuable for students entering the professional workplace. That list includes communication skills written and verbal, problem-solving skills, ability to work in a team, initiative, quantitative skills, strong work ethic, and leadership. Students will develop and strengthen these skills through our courses.

In addition, the following core values are embedded into our courses: Critical and analytical thinking, professional integrity, relational authenticity, stewardship, and transparent communication.

Organizational leadership degree holders can be found in diverse fields such as business, education, human resources, sports and more.

Demand for Organizational Leadership Professionals

Entry-level positions for organizational leadership graduates begin at roughly $50,000 with the income level climbing as more professional experience is gathered.
