Professional Background- John Michalenko was appointed to the position of vice president in 2010 after serving as chief student life officer and dean of students at RMU since 1997. In this role, Michalenko provides executive leadership for the division of student life. In this role, he oversees the department of student activities, multicultural affairs, Greek life, student conduct, counseling and mental health services, student health services, residence life, civic engagement, career center, residence life, and campus recreation. Previous experience includes nine years at Carnegie Mellon University and six years in the Education Office, Arabian Oil Company of Japan.
