PSYC3710 - Advanced Abnormal Psychology
Spring 2024
This course provides an advanced examination of the various psychological disorders treated and managed by professional psychologists. Using the taxonomical system presented in the most recent version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, students will learn to identify symptomatic behavior, assess for clinical diagnosis, make differential diagnoses when presented with similar symptom patterns, and understand theories of disorders' etiologies and treatments to the extent necessary to conceptualize appropriate treatment strategies.
