Military & Veterans Financial Aid

Please review the following Financial Aid information for Veterans at Robert Morris University.

At Robert Morris University, we recommend you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) regardless of the military benefits you are receiving.  If you qualify for state or federal grant funds, you may be eligible to receive those funds as a refund to assist with your personal expenses. The FAFSA opens annually on October 1 st . We do not have a priority deadline for financial aid filing, however, we do strongly encourage students to adhere to the May 1st Pennsylvania State Grant FAFSA filing deadline.

Filing the FAFSA is easy to complete:

  1. Apply for your FSA ID if needed online at fsaid.ed.gov
  2. Complete the FAFSA online at studentaid.gov/fafsa
  3. Be sure to apply for the academic year you plan to enroll.
  4. For the federal school code, please use 003359 for Robert Morris University.
  5. Once submitted, Robert Morris University will usually receive the information within two-four working days.

Once you have completed the FAFSA, you will receive an electronic FAFSA submission summary (FSS).  This confirms that you have successfully completed the FAFSA.  If your FSS indicates you have been selected for verification, requirement will be added to
rmu.edu/myfinaid.

A Financial Aid Award Letter will be generated electronically for students to view through our online Financial Aid Portal.  The award letter will break down the aid you qualify for at the time we award your financial aid. Students can also view their Financial Aid Shopping Sheet at any time through Banner Self-Service.

If you plan on borrowing Federal Direct Loans, you will need to complete a Master Promissory Note and an entrance counseling session.  Both processes can be completed online at:  studentaid.gov

Additional information may be found at the RMU Veterans Center Resource Center.
