Student Financial Responsibilities Policy
As a condition of enrollment, each student acknowledges and agrees to the financial responsibilities set forth in this policy, which are also included in an electronic acknowledgment that is required to be completed by the student:
- By enrolling at Robert Morris University (RMU), I acknowledge and understand that I am expected to pay in a timely manner for tuition, room and board and other costs incurred each semester, including any late penalties assessed due to failure to pay these financial obligations in a timely fashion. I also understand that collection fees and/or costs, court costs, and attorney fees will be added if the services of a collection agency are employed, and further that RMU may report this unpaid obligation to credit bureau organizations. The undersigned authorizes RMU, its agents, representatives, attorneys, and contractors (including collection agencies) to contact me through my mobile phone, home phone, and email, including by way of text and automated message calls, for purposes of collecting any portion of my student financial obligations which are past due. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- I understand that all academic and other RMU records will be placed on “hold,” and registration for future terms will not be permitted until the amount of the debt is paid in full.
- From time to time it may be advisable for health, safety, or other reasons for the University to alter the instructional modality for one or more courses. The University may also change the course content, instructor, and/or location for any course. Advance notice of any changes will be provided to students if possible, but is not required. No refunds of or modifications to tuition or fees will be provided in the event of any such changes.
- The University also reserves the right to limit or restrict student access to any University classroom or any facility, building, or property in the case of natural disaster, outbreak of infectious disease, emergency or similar circumstances beyond the University’s control when advisable for health, safety, or other reasons. No refunds of or modifications to tuition or fees will be provided in such circumstances.
