Nurses have the opportunity to touch lives every day. The Department of Nursing is committed to helping students develop strong technical skills, as well as the clinical judgment and critical thinking necessary to succeed in a rapidly changing healthcare system.
The program builds on the natural and behavioral sciences, integrating liberal arts and professional courses into a cohesive program. Students have clinical experiences working with clients in community and hospital settings. The Regional Research and Innovation in Simulation Education (RISE) Center is among a select few freestanding nursing programs in the world accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.
The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, the master's degree program in nursing, the Doctor of Nursing Practice program and the post-graduate APRN certificate program at Robert Morris University are all accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org).
Graduates of the pre-licensure BSN program are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Graduates of the BSN-DNP program and the PMHNP program are eligible to take the certification exam(s) in their specialty area(s).
