What Can I Do With This Major? will assist in identifying potential career paths associated with a student’s academic interests by linking majors to various professions. With over 100 major profiles, it offers insights into common career paths, the kinds of employers active in each field, and strategies for optimizing your job prospects. Additionally, it provides links to professional organizations, outlook data for occupations, and job hunting tools.

Vault

Vault is a comprehensive career resource that includes industry and profession overviews; rankings and profiles for employers and internship programs; career articles, blogs and videos; sample resumes and cover letters; and an online library.

Handshake

Handshake is the Career and Professional Development Center’s primary system for online recruiting, accessing employer profiles, and job/internship postings. In addition, student’s can register for and access professional development workshops, networking events, career fairs, and interview sessions.

ResumeAI by Big Interview is a powerful tool designed to enhance a student’s resume and increase their chances of landing that dream job. Think of it as a personal professional resume reviewer, giving feedback instantaneously! Most companies use AI for recruitment, so why not leverage the same technology?

Big Interview

Big Interview is an online system that combines training and practice to help improve interview technique and build confidence. The system includes a mock interview practice and recording tool as well as an AI feature that provides immediate feedback and a personalized action plan. Video training is also provided for Resume, Job Search/Networking, Negotiation, and the First 90 Days on the job.

A free subscription for the Pittsburgh Business Times is available through the RMU Library.  Students may register for a free account using their RMU email address. The Pittsburgh Business Times provides access to the latest news about Pittsburgh businesses, Best Places to Work rankings, the Book of Lists, and more!  The Book of Lists features listings of the hottest area companies by field and ranking and is a great resource to research companies and organizations in Pittsburgh.
