Andrew Birk

Andrew Birk stretched beyond his studies as a nuclear medicine technology major at the School of Nursing and Health Sciences, and people noticed. He received the university’s 2017 Presidential Transformational Award, given annually to one graduating senior who has been transformed personally and has contributed to the transformation of the university in a meaningful way.

Danny Moore

Danny Moore wants to improve healthcare delivery, not only in the United States, but for people in Nicaragua too. As the systems engineer lead for the Mitre Corp., a nonprofit corporation that operates federally-funded research centers supporting several government agencies, Danny applies lessons he has learned in a 30-year career in process improvement in order to improve results in the highly complex healthcare arena.

M.S.N. in Nursing Education

The M.S.N. in Nursing Education is designed to build mastery of educational process and practical experiences in order to prepare students to be effective educators and leaders. The Master Science Health Administration (MHA) degree positions graduates for upper-level management opportunities in the expanding healthcare industry. Tremendous changes underway in healthcare delivery demand trained administrators and managers who understand how to achieve cost-effective care through process improvement and a focus on improving overall wellness. Hospitals, insurers, and other care providers all have to do more with less, and they need managers who understand the new models.

Counseling Psychology M.S.

The M.S. in Counseling Psychology is a two-year cohort program that provides a foundation in counseling skills, assessment, and individual and group therapy. It offers students the opportunity to gain supervised practical experience in a formal practicum and internship, while also benefiting from an engaged faculty. Our faculty 'do' what they teach!

Nursing B.S.N.

The B.S.N. in Nursing helps you to develop strong technical skills as well as the clinical judgment and critical thinking necessary to succeed in the rapidly changing healthcare system. Classroom study with experienced practitioners and scholars is combined with practice in a sophisticated simulation facility. You also gain clinical experience in community and hospital settings, and the program’s emphasis on global outreach provides well-established study abroad options.

Psychology B.S. (General Psychology)

The B.S. in Psychology with a General Psychology concentration provides students with an examination of many of the diverse subfields within the discipline. Students who choose this path can work with faculty mentors to tailor their studies to best meet their academic and career needs. For example, they can focus on forensic psychology, child or gender psychology, psychology of adjustment, or related topics in other academic programs.
