With Freshmen Enrollment Up 21 Percent, Robert Morris University Welcomes Class of 2025
The Robert Morris University Class of 2025 will descend on campus on Thursday, August 26, for Freshmen Move-In Day. The Class of 2025 represents a growth in first-time undergraduate enrollment of 21 percent over the same time last year.
In addition to 683 freshmen students, RMU will also welcome 115 transfer students, an increase of 11 percent over last fall. The freshman class is among the most diverse in RMU history, with a 50/50 gender split and one-fourth of the class identifying themselves as an underrepresented minority. The Class of 2025 hales from 19 states and six nations.
“Amidst the many challenges students and families face in their college search process, RMU has been successful by offering a personalized experience where families can work with university faculty and staff to find the help they need to answer all their financial, academic, and career questions,” said Kevin Hearn, RMU vice president for enrollment management. “For us, this is what it means to be 'Big enough to matter, yet small enough to care.’”
First-year students will begin moving in at 8 a.m. Thursday, and the university’s annual New Student Matriculation Ceremony takes place at 3 p.m. on the Nicholson Center Lawn.
Returning students will move back to campus throughout the weekend, with all students gathering at 7 p.m. Sunday, August 29 on the Nicholson Center Lawn for “BobbyMania,” featuring music, games, food, and fireworks. Classes begin for the semester on Monday, August 30.
