Michele brings over 25 years of experience in higher education fundraising to RMU, having held prominent leadership roles at Washington & Jefferson College and La Roche University.

In her new role, Hufnagel will lead fundraising, development, and alumni relations activities at RMU, working to strengthen relationships with alumni, donors, foundations, and the community to support the university's strategic goals and initiatives. 

Hufnagel is a trained attorney who discovered her true passion for higher education early in her career. Over the past two and a half decades, she has dedicated herself to advancing the missions of various institutions through her expertise in development and alumni engagement. Her previous roles include Interim Vice President for Development and Alumni Engagement at Washington & Jefferson University and, most recently, Vice President for University Advancement at LaRoche University.

Michele's commitment to higher education is driven by her belief in its transformative power. "I am deeply inspired by the spirit of optimism and promise that higher education embodies," said Michele Hufnagel. "I have witnessed firsthand how it builds confidence and equips students with practical skills like speaking and problem-solving, as well as preparing them to be successful in their careers. I am excited to join RMU and contribute to its mission of empowering students to thrive and become unstoppable in their professional journeys."

Michele Hufnagel will officially assume her role as Chief Advancement Officer on June 6, 2024.
