Robert Morris Earns MAAC Academic Praise
Colonials place league-high 22 student-athletes on MAAC Rowing All-Academic Team.

The Robert Morris University rowing team placed a league-high 22 student-athletes on the 2020 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rowing All-Academic Team, it was announced by the conference Wednesday.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.20 on a 4.00 scale. Following the Colonials in the top five schools for the 2020 MAAC Rowing All-Academic Team were Sacred Heart (21), Jacksonville (19), Manhattan (18) and Marist (14). A total of 140 student-athletes across 10 institutions were honored for their academic prowess.
Three seniors, six juniors and 13 sophomores make up the 2020 MAAC Rowing All-Academic Team for RMU. Representing the senior class for the Colonials were Brittany Bell, Kestra Harris and Kalyssa Pottgeiser. Bell posted a 3.84 cumulative GPA while earning a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science, while Harris earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication while recording a 3.79 GPA.
Pottgeiser, one of 13 students, including two from the department of athletics, to earn the 2020 RMU Signature Leadership Award, graduated with a 3.55 GPA in earning a Bachelor of Science degree in statistics and predictive analysis.
Representing the junior class for Robert Morris on the 2020 MAAC Rowing All-Academic Team were Madelyn Green, Rachel Gress, Alison Ishman, Nicole Kristof, Mia Krolczyk and Emma McIntosh.
Green, a nursing major, has compiled a 3.99 cumulative GPA, while Gress studies biology and has posted a 3.90 GPA. Ishman is also a nursing major and owns a 3.73 GPA, while Kristof, who was recently selected to take part in the FISU Forum in August, owns a 3.97 GPA while possessing a double major of marketing and sport management.
Krolczyk is an engineering major who has compiled a 3.99 cumulative GPA through three years as a student-athlete, while McIntosh is a psychology major who has posted a 3.35 GPA.
A total of 13 sophomores for Robert Morris were named to the 2020 MAAC Rowing All-Academic Team, including Marissa Beck, Harley Beckey, Alana Eckels, Kaitlyn Grubbs, Alyssa King, Molly McGuire, Madyson Orlando, Alexis Pelfrey, Molly Rosado, Jayme Sanner, Haley Stahon, Margaret Trautz and Mary Woods.
Beck is a mathematics major with a 3.68 cumulative GPA, while Beckey studies elementary childhood and special education while owning a 3.60 GPA. Eckels is a nursing major with a 3.23 GPA, Grubbs studies nuclear medicine technology with a 3.67 GPA and King also owns a 3.67 GPA as an elementary childhood and special education major.
McGuire is a biology major who was compiled a cumulative 3.82 GPA, while Orlando studies engineering and owns a 3.80 GPA. Pelfrey, Rosado and Sanner own GPAs of 3.42, 3.42 and 3.97, respectively, with Pelfrey studying English, Rosado owning a major of psychology and Sanner studying statistics and predictive analysis.
Wrapping up the sophomore class being named to the 2020 MAAC Rowing All-Academic Team are Stahon, Trautz and Woods. Stahon has posted a cumulative GPA of 3.74 as a nursing major, Trautz has compiled a 3.73 GPA as a mathematics major and Woods is an engineering major who has recorded a perfect 4.00 GPA.
As a program during the 2019-20 academic year, Robert Morris compiled a 3.505 team GPA. As a department, RMU recorded an overall GPA of 3.476 among its 16 intercollegiate programs.
