Robert Morris University and Saxbys Announce Student-Run Experiential Learning Cafe

Robert Morris University (RMU) and Saxbys announced today that the newest location of The Saxbys Experiential Learning Platform (The Saxbys E.L.P.), a network of cafes designed for and run by students, will open inside of RMU’s Wheatley Center in the Fall of 2024. Established in 2015, The Saxbys E.L.P. supports students by providing them with in-depth entrepreneurial opportunities to enrich traditional classroom learning.

The partnership with RMU is a natural fit as the institution emphasizes professional experiences and infuses the spirit of entrepreneurship in all of its programs to ensure that its students leave the institution equipped for incredible success post-graduation. This exciting new partnership will provide students with an enriching new opportunity for paid internships and leadership opportunities directly on the RMU campus. In fact, Saxbys student leaders consistently outpace national averages for on-time graduation and full-time job placement, and even fast-track to leadership roles after graduating from college.

“As The Saxbys Experiential Learning Platform continues to expand, we remain committed to partnering with institutions that share our vision of empowering students, and RMU’s mission to foster entrepreneurial skills and an entrepreneurial mindset in all of its students makes this partnership a perfect fit. Providing students with transformational opportunities to be engaged, successful and career-ready is a shared goal between Saxbys and RMU, and we couldn’t be more excited about our partnership, said Nick Bayer, Founder & CEO of Saxbys. Dr. Michelle Patrick, President of RMU, shared a similar sentiment, “At RMU, we believe in incorporating the spirit of entrepreneurship into everything we do. We’re thrilled to partner with Saxbys to provide this unique entrepreneurial opportunity for our students and to enhance the experience of our entire campus community.”

In the coming months, Saxbys and Robert Morris University will announce the inaugural Student Cafe Executive Officer (SCEO), a student leader who will undoubtedly leave an impact on the campus community.
