Applied Data Analytics
The Applied Data Analytics undergraduate certificate prepares students for careers that rely on an understanding of data analytics and the skills needed to define business problems and manage data architecture. Courses in the certificate emphasize applications of data mining and integration theory and practice.
Upon completion of this certificate, graduates will be able to:
- Understand how information systems, decision support systems, and data analytics support business decision-making within organizations
- Utilize decision support and data analytics tools such as data warehouses, OLAP tools, and BPM tools to store and analyze data
- Recognize and describe existing data mining tools
- Demonstrate coding using the basic features of the Python programming language, including basic datatypes, classes, lists, and files
- Perform statistical analyses and analyze data sets using Python and PANDAS
- Condense large datasets into visual formats for analysis
The 12-credit undergraduate certificate is designed as a standalone stackable credential. Credits can also be applied to the 120-credit B.S. in Data Analytics, or as electives in another B.S. program.
