Special Education Minor
The special education minor gives students the opportunity to develop an understanding of disability as a social construct, and gain knowledge regarding laws and requirements that govern special education. This minor is an excellent complement to education and psychology majors, but may be taken by any undergraduate student with an interest in the disabilities community and special education.
If you minor in either education or special education you will be required to complete field experience hours in a variety of school settings. In order to visit public and private schools you must have three (3) completed and updated criminal clearances. Printed information regarding which clearances are necessary and how to obtain them can be located in the reception area of 2nd floor Wheatley or the Education office, 237 Wheatley.
